Let’s start with some basic vocabulary: 房子fáng zi house; 公寓gōng yù apartment; 房间 fáng jiān room; 客厅 kè tīng living room; 厨房 chú fáng kitchen; 卫生间 wèi shēng jiān bathroom; 卧室 wò shì bedroom; 餐厅 cān tīng dining room; 地下室 dì xià shì basement; 阁楼 gé lóu attic; 车道 chē dào driveway; 窗户 chuāng hu window; 墙 qiáng wall; 天花板 tiān huā bǎn ceiling; 地板 dì bǎn floor; 门 mén door.
- 我要回家了。
Wǒ yào huí jiā le.
I’m going home. - 我们在家。/我们不在家。
Wǒ men zài jiā. / Wǒ men bú zài jiā.
We are home. / We aren’t home. - 你是自己买房了还是租房住？
Nǐ shì zì jǐ mǎi fáng le hái shì zū fáng zhù?
Do you live in a house or an apartment? - 你的房子/公寓有多少个房间？
Nǐ de fáng zi/ gōng yù yǒu duō shǎo gè fáng jiān?

Now let’s focus on Chinese for the kitchen, 厨房 chú fáng: 冰箱 bīng xiāng refrigerator; 厨灶 chú zào stove, cooker; 烤箱 kǎo xiāng oven; 水槽 shuǐ cáo sink; 洗碗机 xǐ wǎn jī dishwasher: 橱柜chú guì cupboard; 餐桌 cān zhuō table; 五斗橱柜 wǔ dǒu chú guì drawer; 叉子 chā zi fork; 刀 dāo knife; 勺子 sháo zi spoon; 盘子 pán zi plate; 碗 wǎn bowl; 杯子 bēi zi cup; 玻璃杯 bō li bēi glass; 餐巾纸 cān jīn zhǐ napkin.
- 我的厨房很小。
Wǒ de chú fáng hěn xiǎo.
My kitchen is small. - 我在厨房做饭。
Wǒ zài chú fáng zuò fàn.
I cook in the kitchen. - 食物都在冰箱里。
Shí wù dōu zài bīng xiāng lǐ.
The food is in the refrigerator. - 餐厅里有一张餐桌和六把椅子。
Cān tīng lǐ yǒu yī zhāng cān zhuō hé liù bǎ yǐ zi.
There are a table and six chairs in the dining room. - 我们在餐厅里吃晚饭。
Wǒ men zài cān tīng lǐ chī wǎn fàn.
We eat dinner in the dining room.
Chinese Vocabulary for the Living Room
Here is some Chinese vocabulary for the living room, 客厅 kè tīng: 沙发 shā fā sofa; 电视 diàn shì television; 窗帘 chuāng lián curtain; 地毯垫子 dì tǎn diàn zi rug; 书架 shū jià bookshelf; 台灯 tái dēng lamp.
- 客厅里有一张沙发和两把椅子。
Kè tīng lǐ yǒu yī zhāng shā fā hé liǎng bǎ yǐ zi.
There are a sofa and two chairs in the living room. - 我们在客厅看电视。
Wǒ men zài kè tīng kàn diàn shì.
We watch TV in the living room.
Chinese Vocabulary for the Bedroom
Let’s move on to Chinese vocabulary for the Bedroom, 卧室 wò shì: 床 chuáng bed; 枕头 zhěn tou pillow; 毯子 tǎn zi blanket; 床单 chuáng dān sheet; 书桌 shū zhuō desk.
- 我在卧室里睡觉。
Wǒ zài wò shì lǐ shuì jiào.
I sleep in my bedroom. - 我的卧室里有一张书桌。
Wǒ de wò shì lǐ yǒu yī zhāng shū zhuō.
I have a desk in my bedroom. - 书桌上有一盏台灯。
Shū zhuō shàng yǒu yī zhǎn tái dēng.
There is a lamp on the desk.

And finally, let’s see some Chinese vocabulary for the bathroom, 卫生间 wèi shēng jiān: 马桶 mǎ tǒng toilet; 水槽 shuǐ cáo bathroom sink; 淋浴 lín yù shower; 浴缸 yù gāng bathtub: 毛巾 máo jīn towel; 卫生纸 wèi shēng zhǐ toilet paper; 牙刷 yá shuā toothbrush; 牙膏 yá gāo toothpaste; 洗手液 xǐ shǒu yè soap; 洗发水 xǐ fà shuǐ shampoo; 刷子 shuā zi brush; 梳子 shū zi comb; 剃须刀 tì xū dāo razor.

Wèi shēng jiān zài nǎ lǐ?
Where is the bathroom? - 我在卫生间里洗澡。
Wǒ zài wèi shēng jiān lǐ xǐ zǎo.
