Olá! Meu nome é Dulce. Sou professora de português. Prazer em conhecê-lo/la! Hi! My name is Dulce. I’m a Portuguese teacher. I’m originally from Pomona, California, but as a teenager I moved to São Paulo, Brazil. I ended up owning and managing a language school for nearly two decades, so teaching languages has been near and dear to me for a long time.
I’m a bilingual language specialist with experience in ESL and Portuguese instruction as well as TOEFL prep, and I’ve written Portuguese language books for Random House’s Living Language. I’ve also developed content for Kaplan test prep materials and translated books and articles for various publishers and websites.
I’ve lived in Milan and Paris, where I learned Italian and French. This experience has given me a strong first-hand experience of the joys and challenges of learning a new language. SMALL GROUP ONLINE CLASSES IN PORTUGUESE
The Language Garage offers affordable, high-quality online instruction to small groups of no more than five students for just $80 per student for six weeks. Typically, group sizes are even smaller, three or four. This gives you a great deal of individual attention, and plenty of time to speak with your instructor and the other students in your small group.
Small groups meet once a week for six weeks, and each session lasts forty-five minutes on a fixed schedule. Upcoming small groups are listed below. If you already have a small group (of friends, family, or colleagues) who would like to learn together, just email us at small.groups@thelanguagegarage.com and we’ll set up a custom schedule for you.

BEGINNER (BRAZILIAN) PORTUGUESE 1: Suitable for absolute beginners, or anyone needing a brush-up on the basics. Learn greetings and courtesy expressions, how to introduce yourself, and basic vocabulary and grammar that will get you started on a wonderful journey of learning Portuguese!
