Me llamo Eric. ¡Encantado! I am a first-generation American who grew up speaking Spanish with my Colombian mother and Argentine father. I’ve taught Spanish in schools and organizations, in both group and private lessons. I have taught Spanish at Berlitz Language Centers, where I also trained and supervised instructors. I was an Associate Publisher at Penguin Random House publishing books in Spanish, and I’ve traveled throughout Latin America for work and leisure.
I enjoy working with students of all backgrounds and levels, and my goal is always very simple: to make you feel comfortable and engaged learning a new language. Language learning should be fun and inspirational, no matter what your specific learning goals are.

¡Hola! Me llamo Ygor. Soy profesor de español. ¡Mucho gusto! I was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. I can’t believe that I have been a teacher of Philosophy (Wittgenstein-obsessed), Classical Languages (Latin and Greek lover) and Spanish (faithful devotee of Jorge Luis Borges) for more than 20 years.
I love working with students with different reasons for learning Spanish: travel, family, personal interest, work, or school. I’m a certified DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) examiner for all levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2), so I help candidates prepare to pass the exam. No matter what brings my students to me, I think language learning is both a beautiful and comprehensive subject. Different ways of thought, philosophy, politics, poetry, love, food, geography, all come into language. Everything is in Languages, in all of their human diversity. So when I teach, I like to find what my students are passionate about, and I tailor their learning experience to their interests, along with their learning style and pace.

SMALL GROUP ONLINE CLASSES IN SPANISH
The Language Garage offers affordable, high-quality online instruction to small groups of no more than five students for just $80 per student for six weeks. Typically, group sizes are even smaller, three or four. This gives you a great deal of individual attention, and plenty of time to speak with your instructor and the other students in your small group.
Small groups meet once a week for six weeks, and each session lasts forty-five minutes on a fixed schedule. Upcoming small groups are listed below. If you already have a small group (of friends, family, or colleagues) who would like to learn together, just email us at small.groups@thelanguagegarage.com and we’ll set up a custom schedule for you.
UPCOMING SPANISH SMALL GROUP ONLINE CLASSES
BEGINNER SPANISH 1: Suitable for absolute beginners, or anyone needing a brush-up on the basics. Learn greetings and courtesy expressions, how to introduce yourself, and basic vocabulary and grammar that will get you started on a wonderful journey of learning Spanish!

INTERMEDIATE SPANISH CONVERSATION: This program is designed to improve your vocabulary and make you more comfortable speaking and understanding conversational Spanish. Discussion topics, readings, and grammar points will be tailored to the group’s needs. Participants should have a solid foundation in basic Spanish. If you’re not sure about your level, just contact us for an evaluation.
