MEET YOUR ENGLISH INSTRUCTORS

Hi! My name is Chris, and I have decades of experience teaching, developing language learning content, training teachers, and studying languages. In my professional life, before creating the Language Garage, I worked for Random House/Living Language and Berlitz. My academic life has also focused on languages; I have a BA in French Literature and an MPhil in Linguistics. And in my personal life, I travel quite a bit and have always had a passion for learning languages.

I teach English to students of all levels. Because I’ve learned so many languages, I really understand what it’s like to be a language learner. I’m familiar with the grammar of many other languages, so I can make connections between my language and my student’s language. I customize my teaching style to each student’s learning style, age, background, and purpose for learning. My main goal is to keep the student speaking, so I reinforce any new or reviewed point with spoken practice.

If you are interested in taking lessons with me, please book a free trial lesson and consultation. This is the best way for me to get a sense of your level and needs, and for you to see how I teach.

Hi! My name is Dulce. I’m an English teacher with The Language Garage and a language specialist with experience in ESL instruction, translation, and content development, as well as TOEFL prep.

I’m originally from California, but I have lived in many different countries including Italy, France, Brazil, and Mexico doing what I do best: teaching the locals English!

Experience living abroad has given me a strong first-hand experience of the joys and challenges of learning a new language. My teaching skills have been enriched by this, and I’d love to help you learn or improve your English the same way I had to learn different languages along the way.

If you’d like to schedule a trial lesson with me, please request a consultation and free trial. Hope to see you soon!
