Let’s start with some basic vocabulary: das Haus, -¨er house; die Wohnung, -en apartment; das Zimmer, -Ø room; das Wohnzimmer, -Ø living room; die Küche, -n kitchen; das Badezimmer, -Ø bathroom; das Schlafzimmer, -Ø bedroom; das Esszimmer, -Ø dining room; der Keller, -Ø basement; der Dachboden, -¨Ø attic; die Auffahrt, -en driveway; das Fenster, -Ø window; die Wand, -¨e wall; die Decke, -n ceiling; der Fußboden, -¨Ø floor; die Tür, -e door.

Now let’s focus on German vocabulary for the kitchen (die Küche) and the dining room (das Esszimmer): der Kühlschrank, -¨e refrigerator; der Herd, -e stove, cooker; der Ofen, -¨Ø oven; der Spülstein, -e  sink; die Geschirrspülmaschine, -n  dishwasher: der Küchenschrank, -¨e cupboard; der Tisch, -e table; die Schublade, -n drawer; die Gabel, -n fork; das Messer, -Ø knife; der Löffel, -Ø spoon; der Teller, -Ø plate; die Schüssel, -n bowl; die Tasse, -n cup; das Glas, -¨er glass; die Serviette, -n napkin.

• Meine Küche ist klein.
  My kitchen is small.
• Ich koche in der Küche.
  I cook in the kitchen.
• Das Essen steht / die Lebensmittel stehen im Kühlschrank.
  The food is in the refrigerator.
• Im Esszimmer stehen ein Tisch und sechs Stühle.

Here is some German vocabulary for the living room(Das Wohnzimmer): das Sofa, -s sofa; der Fernseher, -Ø television; der Vorhang, -¨e curtain; der Teppich, -e rug; das Bücherregal, -e bookshelf; die Lampe, -n lamp.

• Im Wohnzimmer stehen ein Sofa und zwei Stühle.
  There are a sofa and two chairs in the living room.
• Wir sehen im Wohnzimmer fern.
  We watch TV in the living room.

German Vocabulary for the Bedroom

Next we’ll see some German vocabulary for the bedroom (das Schlafzimmer): das Bett, -en bed; das Kissen, -Ø pillow; die Bettdecke, -n/Wolldecke, -n blanket; das Bettlaken, -Ø sheet; der Schreibtisch, -e desk.

• Ich schlafe in meinem Schlafzimmer.
  I sleep in my bedroom.
• In meinem Schlafzimmer steht ein Schreibtisch.
  I have a desk in my bedroom.
• Auf dem Schreibtisch steht eine Lampe.
  There is a lamp on the desk.

And finally, let’s see some German vocabulary for the bathroom (das Badezimmer): die Toilette, -n toilet; der Spülstein, -e bathroom sink; die Dusche, -n shower; die Badewanne, -n bathtub: das Handtuch, -¨er towel; das Toilettenpapier toilet paper; die Zahnbürste, -n toothbrush; die Zahnpasta toothpaste; die Seife soap; das Shampoo shampoo; die Bürste, -n brush; der Kamm, -¨e comb; der Rasierer, -Ø razor.

• Wo ist das Bad(ezimmer)?
  Where is the bathroom?
