Here are some basic expressions that you can use to describe typical weather.
- Che tempo fa oggi/questo fine settimana?
What’s the weather like today/this weekend? - Fa bello oggi.
It’s nice out today. - C’è il sole.
It’s sunny. - Fa caldo.
It’s hot. - Fa freddo.
It’s cold. - È nuvoloso.
It’s cloudy. - C’è vento.
It’s windy. - Piove/Sta piovendo.
It’s raining. - Sta nevicando.
It’s snowing. - C’è una tempesta.
There’s a storm. - È umido.
It’s humid.
Italian Vocabulary for Hot Days
- Fa troppo caldo oggi.
It’s too hot today. - È molto umido.
It’s very humid. - Sto sudando.
I’m sweating. - Accendi l’aria condizionata!
Put the air-conditioner on! - Amo il clima caldo. / Mi piace davvero il clima caldo.
I love/really like warm weather.
Italian Vocabulary for Cold Days
- È gelido!
It’s freezing! - Sta grandinando.
It’s sleeting. - Questa settimana avremo una bufera di neve.
We’re going to have a blizzard this week. - Sto tremando!
