Whether you read a lot or a little, you may want to say:
- Leggere è il mio passatempo preferito.
Reading is my favorite hobby. - Porto sempre un libro con me.
I always have a book with me. - Leggo ogni giorno.
I read every day. - Leggo un sacco di libri/riviste/articoli/blog.
I read a lot of books/magazines/articles/blogs. - Leggo ogni sera a letto.
I read every night in bed. - Leggo online/sul cellulare/sul tablet.

I’m a bookworm. (“I’m a library mouse.”) - Non ho molto tempo per leggere.

Hopefully you enjoy what you’re reading. If that’s the case, you may want to say:
- Amo questo libro.
I love this book. - È davvero un buon libro.
It’s a really good book. - Questo libro è interessante/emozionante/importante.
This book is interesting/exciting/important. - Questo libro è scritto benissimo.
This book is beautifully written. - La trama è originale/sorprendente.
The plot is original/surprising. - È il mio personaggio preferito.
She’s/He’s my favorite character. - Non posso smettere di leggere questo libro!
I can’t put this book down! - Devi leggere questo libro. Te lo consiglio vivamente.
You have to read this book. I highly recommend it. - Questo libro è molto popolare.
This book is very popular. - Questo libro è un best seller.
This book is a best seller.
Questo libro è terribile. This book is terrible!
Of course, not all books are great. If you’re reading something you don’t like, you may want to say:
- Non mi piace questo libro.
I don’t like this book. - Questo libro è terribile.
This book is terrible. - Questo libro è noioso.
This book is boring. - Lo stile di scrittura è pessimo.
The writing is awful. - La trama non è originale.
The plot is not original. - I personaggi non sono interessanti.
The characters are not interesting. - È una traduzione pessima.
This is a bad translation. - Non sopporto quel libro/quell’autore.
I can’t stand that book/that author. - Non ho neanche finito il primo capitolo.
I didn’t even finish the first chapter. - Questo libro è una perdita di tempo/di denaro.
This book is a waste of time/money.
