Let’s start with some basic vocabulary.

Talking about the Weather in Korean

Here are some expressions to describe typical weather.

  • 오늘/주말 날씨는 어때요?
    oneul/jumal nalssineun eottaeyo?
    What’s the weather like today/this weekend?
  • 아름다운 날이에요.  
    areumdaun narieyo.  
    It’s a beautiful day.
  • 맑아요.  
    malkayo.  
    It’s sunny.
  • 더워요.
     
    deowoyo.
    It’s hot.
  • 추워요.
    chuwoyo.
    It’s cold.
  • 흐려요.  
    heuryeoyo.
    It’s cloudy.
  • 바람이 불어요.  
    barami bureoyo.
    It’s windy.
  • 비가 와요.  
    biga wayo.
    It’s raining.
  • 눈이 와요.  
    nuni wayo.
    It’s snowing.

Korean Vocabulary for Hot Days

Here are some expressions to talk about hot weather.

  • 오늘은 너무 더워요.
    oneul-eun neomu deowoyo.
    It’s too hot today.
  • 매우 습하네요.
    maeu seubhaneyo.
    It’s very humid.
  • 저는 땀이 나네요.
    jeoneun ttam-i naneyo.
    I’m sweating.
  • 에어컨을 세요!
    eeokeon-eul kyeo seyo!
    Put the air-conditioner on!
  • 따뜻한 날씨를 정말 좋아해요
    ttatteushan nalsshi-reul jeongmal jo-ahaeyo.
    I love/really like warm weather.

Korean Vocabulary for Cold Days

And here are some expressions to talk about the cold weather.

  • 추워요.
    chuwoyo.

    It’s cold.
  • 너무 추워요! 
    neomu chuwoyo!

    It’s freezing!
  • 눈이 내려요. 
    nun-i naelyeoyo.

    It’s snowing.
  • 춥고 바람이 불어요. 
    chubgo balam-i buleoyo.

    It’s cold and windy.
  • 이번주에 눈보라가 칠 거예요. 
    ibeonju-e nunbola-ga chil geoyeyo.

    We’re going to have a blizzard this week.
  • 나는 떨고 있어요. 
    na-neun tteolgo isseoyo.

    I’m shivering!
  • 눈을 정말 좋아해요. 
    nun-eul jeongmal jo-ahaeyo.

    I love/really like snow.
